Global Coordinator – Upskilling Project for Field Workers*

in Malawi, Niger, or Tajikistan

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration of one year. There are very good prospects for an extension. Employment location will be Lilongwe (Malawi), Niamey (Niger), or Dushanbe (Tajikistan).

As Global Coordinator – Upskilling for Field Workers your objective is to improve the training opportunities for field workers of Welthungerhilfe and its partner organizations in selected topics (working & engaging with local partners; community mobilization & facilitation; conflict resolution; communication skills), and to enable them to share their experiences to best cope with their daily work and potential challenges. In 2024 the project will be piloted in 6 countries: Burundi, Madagascar, Malawi, Niger, Tajikistan and Ukraine. You will coordinate all activities of the Upskilling project and ensure a smooth running of the program in line with Welthungerhilfe quality standards.

Your responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the success and impact of the program by defining and tracking key performance indicators
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training measures through regular feedback surveys and make adjustments accordingly
  • Ensure consistent evaluation of field workers training needs
  • Develop, review and update training content on an ongoing basis
  • Support countries in adapting training materials to their local context
  • Continuous exchange with and support to the trainers participating in the Upskilling program
  • Facilitate workshops and exchanges between trainers to promote sharing of best practices and continuous learning
  • Organize and coordinate communities of practice events among field workers, fostering knowledge and experience sharing
  • Conduct a comprehensive review process after the pilot phase of the project, identifying areas for improvement
  • Plan the global rollout of the Upskilling project in all Welthungerhilfe countries
  • Ensure proper allocation of budgets in accordance with established rules and regulations
  • Ensure awareness of the project among WHH staff through frequent internal communication
  • Ensure the development of training quality standards and compliance of the created trainings with these standards
  • Document the process and capitalize on good practices and lessons learned

Your profile

  • A University or College degree in education or a similar field
  • 2-3 years job experience in coordinating an international development project
  • Field experience in development context is an advantage
  • Training development skills (methodological expertise in training development)
  • Experience in online facilitation
  • Experience of working in multicultural context
  • Willingness to travel to project countries involved
  • Excellent spoken and written English skills
  • Excellent French skills are an advantage
