Action contre la Faim (ACF) recrute un Directeur Pays, Maputo/Pemba Mozambique

Action contre la Faim (ACF) worked in Mozambique between 1991 and 2001 and has recently resumed work with the primary objective responding to Cabo Delgado complex emergency that led to the displacement of up to 940,000 people. In a still volatile context of that Province, ACF currently assists IDPs, returnees and host populations, in the food security, nutrition/health and WASH sectors, with a rapid response mechanism but also with programmes increasingly oriented towards resilience.

In a country that is currently ranked 185th/191 on the Human Development Index, has an extremely high stunting rate (44%), and is prone to cyclones and epidemics, ACF is also willing to develop its emergency response capacity and to increase its technical influence at a national level.

ACF country office is composed of approximately 130 staff members. Coordination is mainly based in Pemba, Cabo Delgado Province. There are 2 base offices in Cabo Delgado and a liaison office in Maputo.

The Country Director position is currently based in Pemba with 25% travel to Maputo. Pemba is a beautiful and safe seaside town, with good infrastructures. However, in the perspective of an increasing exposure to national discussion, we can envisage the position to be based in Maputo with 2 working week per month in Pemba for now.
