GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
KINGDOM OF ESWATIN
MANZINI REGION WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT
General procurement notice :
The Kingdom of Eswatini has received a loan from the African Development Bank to finance the Manzini Region Water Supply and Sanitation Project (MRWSSP) ;
The objective of the project is to meet the potable water requirements of Manzini and surrounding areas and reducing the risk of environmental pollution of the groundwater through provision of appropriate sanitation services. The project is to improve the well-being of inhabitants and spur economic growth of of Nhlambeni, Manzini South, Mthongwaneni, and Mafutseni in the Manzini Region through provision of adequate safe water supply and improved sanitation services ;
The project includes the following components :
- Water supply works comprising of water treatment plant, pumping main, reservoirs and distribution system ;
- Sanitation facilities including sewerage treatment works and promotion of sanitation and hygiene ; and
- Institutional Strengthening and Project management (including engineering consultancy services).
Procurement of works and services will be done in line with the Bank’s Procurement Framework for Bank Group-Funded Operations, dated October 2015. Procurement of water supply system and sanitation works shall be carried out through Open Competitive Bidding (OCB). Bidding documents are expected to be available in April 2019 or later.
Acquisition of the consultancy services (Design, Tendering and Supervision of Water Supply services and Wastewater services) will be done through shortlists under Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method. Selections of the engineering firms have started through Advance contracting approved by the Bank.
